About Us

EARTH CLIMATE AWARENESS is a USA 503c non-profit that develops community-based, community-led, town hall-style and virtual awareness sessions intended to clarify global warming and its consequences, and specifically to address the reasons for individual complacency or feelings of powerlessness in failing to act against ignorance, power, and short term profit. We seek to promote realistic solutions that can be enacted on the individual or community level. Speakers leading each of these awareness sessions is a youth chosen from high schools/colleges from the community along with a mentor. Mentors are sought from the ranks of biology or other science-oriented teachers and work with the youth speaker on the presentation as well as participate in the discussions with the audience. We offer our youth speakers with a certificate of their dedication to community service as well as a stipend. As a sustainable enterprise, any travel is limited to auto, bus and train, keeping movements regional and virtual, with air travel reserved only for very significant distant conferences.
