Earth Climate Awareness

MAN AND WOMAN INHERITED A WORLD OF PERFECT SPLENDOR. THEY BECAME PART OF A GREAT SYMPHONY OF AIR AND WATER AND EARTH AND INTERTWINED LIFE. A PLACE WITH NO WASTE, ALL IN BALANCE AND OF GREAT BEAUTY. AND THEY WERE GIFTED WITH A LARGE BRAIN AND HANDS: CAPABLE OF LANGUAGE AND SONG, INVENTIVE, AND WITH THE ABILITY TO CRAFT AND COOPERATE, TO CREATE CIVILIZATIONS. LOOK AT THIS WONDROUS VIEW OF EARTH. THINK OF THE BEAUTY OF THE BIRDS, THE BUTTERFLIES ON A SUMMER DAY, THE OCEANS TEEMING WITH LIFE, THE GRACE OF ANIMALS. WE MUST TRY TO FIRST KNOW WHAT A PRECIOUS WORLD WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN, AND BEYOND THE HUM DRUM OF OUR DAYS BE GRATEFUL AND CARE FOR THIS MAGNIFICENT GIFT. TAKE A MOMENT TO THINK THAT IN THE IMMENSITY OF THE UNIVERSE AND TIME WE ARE BLESSED TO LIVE ON THIS LOVELY BLUE PLANET.

EARTH CLIMATE AWARENESS is a USA 503c non-profit developing community-based, community-led, town hall-style and virtual awareness sessions intended to clarify global warming and its consequences, and specifically to address the reasons for individual complacency or feelings of powerlessness in failing to act against ignorance, power, and short term profit. We seek to promote realistic solutions that can be enacted on the individual or community level. Speakers leading each of these awareness sessions is a youth chosen from high schools/colleges from the community along with a mentor. Mentors are sought from the ranks of biology or other science-oriented teachers and work with the youth speaker on the presentation as well as participate in the discussions with the audience. We offer our youth speakers with a certificate of their dedication to community service as well as a stipend. As a sustainable enterprise, any travel is limited to auto, bus and train, keeping movements regional and virtual, with air travel reserved only for very significant distant conferences.
